The fastest way to test a startup idea in 2026

The fastest way to test a startup idea in 2026 — a one-week sprint that tells you whether anyone will pay before you write code.

Day 1: Define the one job

Write the problem in one sentence, the user in one sentence, the outcome in one sentence. If you can't, you're not ready to test — you're still figuring out the idea.

Days 2–3: Build the landing page

Headline, three benefits, one screenshot or sketch, one CTA: 'Get early access' with a pre-order button. Use Lovable, Carrd or Framer — whatever you can ship in an afternoon.

Days 4–5: Drive 200 targeted visitors

$100 of ads to a sharply defined audience. Or 100 cold DMs to people who clearly have the problem. Quality of traffic matters more than volume at this scale.

Days 6–7: Read the numbers honestly

Above 5% conversion to email + 3 pre-orders = build it. 1–5% + a handful of replies = iterate the headline. Below 1% = kill it and move to the next idea. Be ruthless — the next idea is the one that works.

Why this beats market research

Surveys tell you what people think they want. A landing page tells you what they'll act on. Action beats opinion every time.
